Abia NUJ Hails Award of Scholarship by Prof. Ibe – Nuelsnews



Abia State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists has commended the Chancellor and Proprietor of Gregory University Uturu (GUU), Professor Gregory Ibe for approving to award scholarship to two (2) children or dependants of members of the Union to study any course in the field of Mass Communication/ Journalism in Gregory University Uturu.

The Scholarship programme which is slated to commence this academic year, will last throughout the entire duration of the course.

In a statement jointly endorsed by the Council Chairman, Comrade John Emejor and the Secretary, Comrade Victor Ndukwe, appreciated Prof lbe for his kind disposition towards Abia NUJ Council and the journalism profession, adding that it will go a long way in cementing the cordial relationship existing between the Union, Professor Ibe and the Gregory university, Uturu.

The Union noted that with the full fledged scholarship for the beneficiaries to study any course in Mass Communication or Journalism, Professor Greg Ibe has further demonstrated in clear terms his love for journalists and media industry in general.

The release while describing education as the life wire of every polity, enjoined members of the Union with qualified children and wards to leverage on the opportunity by applying to the Council.

They also used the opportunity to encourage other well to do individuals in the society to emulate the philanthropic dispositions and shining examples of Professor Greg Ibe especially in the development of society through education and investment in the various sectors of the state.

The Abia Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists also urged the youths to take their studies seriously as a way of appreciating the sacrifices and magnanimity of their parents and benefactors in their efforts towards securing a better future for them.
