The Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Hon. Michael Ibe Nwoke, has emerged the National Committee Chairman on Revenue of the Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria, ALGON.
The nomination as the committee chairman followed a unanimous decision at ALGON National Assembly held in Abuja.
Hon. Nwoke had at the Assembly raised a motion appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure that Governors of the 36 States through the Nigerian Governors Forum procured more Vaccines that will get to all the 774 Local Governments of the federation.
Nwoke while raising the motion said the need to appeal to Governors to procure more vaccines is to ensure that every Nigerian despite location is vaccinated against the deadly virus ravaging the global community.
The motion was seconded by the National Treasurer of ALGON, who is also the ALGON Chairman of Nasarawa State, Hon. Aminu Muazu Maifata.
The Kolade David Alabi led administration were also re-elected for a second term in office.
The ALGON General Assembly comprises of 3 ALGON chairmen from each state and it is the decision making body of the Association.
