Isiala Oparanadim Community Laments Poor Social Amenities. The people of Isiala Oparanadim in EKWERAZU AHIAZU MBAISE LGA of Imo State has lamented for poor social amenities and therefore urged the government at all levels for an urgent intervention towards providing them with adequate social amenities in the community.

The Caretaker Committee Chairman Mr Cyriacus NWAGWU made this known while addressing the news men in his community
expressed shock on how government has neglected the community leaving the people to their fate adding that the level of dilapidation of public infrastructure mainly at Opposite Nweafor Community Primary School, Nweafor Health Centre and Oparanadim Comprehensive Secondary School which is the only secondary school in the whole of Oparanadim that made up of the three autonomous communities (Usual Oparanadim, Eziama and Umumbiri) is not encouraging.

CY said the dilapidation at the secondary school mainly the examination hall will prevent the students who registered for SSCE to write the exam.

According to him, the hardship of accessing near by school to write the exam due to poor road network in the community will double.

“Its a pity that Isiala Oparanadim Autonomous community is the first son of EKWERAZU and the traditional head of Oparanadim but cannot boast of any tangible government presence”

He further stressed that during election politicians from different political parties come to campaign with different promises but after election no one will see them again.

” We are neglected in this community, our community is the only community in Oparanadim that does not have any motorable road, our health centre which is the only hospital in this Community is in total collapse, the road connecting us to Ihitte-ubi part of Oparanadim has been cut off by erosion, the erosion has claimed the road and areas surrounding Duruowerre River in the community and the place is turning into den of criminals, our transformer has been constantly vandalised by hoodlums”

He beckoned on Imo state government to come to their aid, noting that government should please come renovate the secondary school hall to enable the students write their exams instead of relocating them to any near by school.

NWAGWU expressed dismay at the level in which government presence is not extended to Isiala Oparanadim while calling on well meaning Imolites, lovers of education, Old students of Oparanadim Comprehensive Secondary School to assist to ensure the school does not turn to poutry farm.
