Prof Ibe Wins APGA Guber Race, Assures of A New Abia
The Pro Chancellor, Gregory University Uturu has emerged winner on a peacefully conducted APGA primary election which took place at the Kolping Society Hall in Umuahia on Sunday 29th May 2022.
Declaring the results by the Committee Chairman and returning officer Bar. Echozona Etiaba(SAN) revealed that the total number of accredited voters were 482 votes while the void votes were 3.
Echozona announced Prof. Gregory Ibe the winner of the exercise who polled a total of 283 votes.
Etigwe Uwa polled 148 votes, Chikwe Udensi 12 votes and Rtd General Ijioma got 36 votes.
The aspirants for the APGA primaries election included;
Prof Gregory Ibe, Rtd General Ijioma Nwokoro Ijioma, SAN, Etigwe Uwa and Chief. Chikwe Udensi.
Elated Prof Ibe thanked the electoral committee members for a well organised primary, and his fellow aspirants assuring that together they shall uplift Abia.
Prof Ibe, also thanked the National and State working Committee for a prudent job which he said affirms the Party’s motto “Onye aghala Nwanne ya”
He expressed optimism that the party will take over the reigns of power in the state come 2023. The guber candidate informed that job creation will top his agenda if elected at the forthcoming general elections. In his words ” we shall borrow ideas from Anambra and replicate it here, they have Onitsha and we have Aba, we shall do much more”.
Earlier, the State chairman of the party, Rev. Augustine Ehiemere denied the rumours of one of the aspirants, Chief Chikwe Udensi emerging as the Party’s flagbearer as misleading because at the time of that report, elections were still ongoing.
